CalWORKs - Welfare-to-Work

The CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work program provides employment and training services to eligible family members, who are 18 years of age or older, and receive CalWORKs cash assistance. Participants partner with Employment and Training Workers to develop individual and family goals to gain self-sufficiency.

Participants receive guidance and support with career assessment, educational development, soft skills, life skills, and job retention services. Supportive services participants can access include child care, transportation, and work or education-related expenses to help promote success at school and at work.

WorkFirst Center - 376 S Main Street, Red Bluff Hours: Monday thru Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm   

The WorkFirst training and resource center, open to participants and the public, offers job readiness, life skills training, resume building, and career planning workshops. The computer lab is equipped to aid job seekers to create and print resumes, search and apply for jobs, improve typing and computer skills, and apply for disability and unemployment insurance benefits.
